Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem

- Sa’ala sa’ilun bi’adhaabin waqi’

For the disbelievers; none can repel it - Mina Allahi dhil ma’arij

The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a day the measure of which is fifty thousand years - Fasbir sabran jameela

Indeed, they see it as distant - Wa naraahu qareeba
But We see it as near - Yawma takoonu as-samaau kal-muhl
On the Day the sky will be like molten brass - Wa takoonu aljibaalu kal-‘ihn
And the mountains will be like wool - Wa laa yas’alu hameemun hameema
And no close friend will ask about his friend - Yubassaroonahum; yawaddu almujrimu law yaftadi min ‘athaabi yawmaithim bibanee
They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish to ransom himself from the punishment of that Day with his children - Wa sahibatihee wa akhee
And his wife and his brother - Wa fasilatihi allatee tu’weeh
And his closest family who sheltered him - Wa man fee al-ard jami’an thumma yunjeeh
And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him - Kallaa innaha laza
No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell] - Nazzaa’atan lish-shawa
A remover of exteriors - Tad’oo man adbara wa tawalla
It calls he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience] - Wa jama’a fa-aw’a
And collected [wealth] and hoarded - Innal-insaana khuliqa haloo’aa
Indeed, mankind was created anxious - Itha massahu sharru jazoo’a
When evil touches him, impatient - Wa itha massahu alkhayru manoo’a
But when good touches him, withholding [of it] - Illa almusalleen
Except the observers of prayer - Allatheena hum ‘ala salatihim da-imoon
Those who are constant in their prayer - Wa allatheena fee amwalihim haqqun ma’loom
And those within whose wealth is a known right - Lissa’ili walmahroom
For the petitioner and the deprived - Wa allatheena yusaddiqoona biyawmi ad-deen
And those who believe in the Day of Recompense - Wa allatheena hum min ‘adhabi rabbihim mushfiqoon
And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord
